It's My Home, Not Yours
It’s my home, not yours.
It’s my family,
My family that makes me feel safe,
Who loves me when I don’t,
Who puts me into bed and says good night.
Who never left my side.
It’s my weirdness,
Where I can go and have fun,
Where every time it understands me,
It does not judge me but brings me joy,
Where I can be myself to the fullest.
It's my safety.
It makes me feel seen and safe,
happy and joyful.
And always new.
Where I can calm down
And be me, myself and I.
Sometimes people think home is a roof or a table with food.
But my home is where I can feel happy, feel me.
That may not be your home but to me home is more than a place.
It’s my identity.
I’ll say this once more.
But we all have our special place, our home
but,
this is my home, not yours.
