The Meaning of Home
The meaning of home to me is the safe space where I can grow, learn, and make memories. It is the place where I feel most loved and cared for.
My favourite room in my home is my playroom, where I play games with my family and friends and express my creativity through arts and craftmaking.
The breakfast table is where my family and I have our meals together. It is where I chat with my family about our day. Sometimes, I also do homework at this table if I need help from my parents.
The pantry is filled with all my favourite snacks. I usually sneak in and grab something from there before I start crafting or doing my homework.
The family room is where I snuggle on the couch next to my loved ones. Here, I usually watch shows and movies with my sister and mom. We love to dim the lights and munch on some popcorn.
The pool in the backyard is where I practice swimming and have pool parties with my friends and family. We jump, splash, and play volleyball. It is my favourite way to spend my summer days.
My bedroom is where I wind down and read before I get a good night’s rest. My bed is soft and my cushions are extra fluffy.
These are the areas in my house where I spend most of my time, but what makes a home is not the walls, floors, or rooms - it is the family who lives there and the memories they create. A house without people who love each other in it isn’t truly a home. I am so lucky to have a home to live in with the people I love the most and who love me back.
