Home Is Not Just A Word

Home is a place where I feel loved and welcomed. Home is not just a word. As soon as I walk through the door, The smell of buttered pancakes floods my nose. Home is not just a word. I can feel it getting harder to breath. My laugh starts to becomes the ‘silent laugh’. That laugh warns me; I’m gonna start crying because of how funny the joke was. Home is not just a word. I can see my cats snout pressed against the living room window, While she waits for us to arrive home after a long day. Home is not just a word. Most days I feel like I’m sitting on the grass, Soaking in the suns warm rays. Home is not just a word. My home is like a bookstore, It’s cozy and has that ‘new book’ smell, You smell when you flip through the pages of a new book. Home is not just a word. Everyday a new memory is made. A memory that will forever stay in my heart. Home is not just a word.
