THE EXPERIENCE OF HOME
Home to me is not necessarily the place where I live, it’s more of an experience. Like if I were to say home is a couch as comfortable as a cloud that I can watch tv on. That’s what I mean by home. Home is a place where I am always welcome. Home is playing Slap at Skiff Lake with a roast beef sandwich. It’s reading a book on a cold winter afternoon at the chalet. Home is the snow hill in the NBCC parking lot and swimming to Dibble Island. Home is the most intense tube ride ever and making s’mores at night. Home is hotdogs for lunch and wood fire pizza for dinner. Home is dropping a ski on a calm day and getting scared of the Skiff Lake monster while anchoring. This is what home means to me.
