What “Home Means” To Me

When you hear the word ‘Home' what comes to your mind? Mine would picture a nice cozy living room with family sitting around the coffee table making memories. Gaming together, playing board games, or just spending time with one another. Now home does not have to be a structure you put love into. It can be where you're from or where you were born. Or maybe you had to move and start fresh all over again. Silence doesn’t feel awkward when you are with someone you feel comfortable around. It feels calm and safe. Silence doesn’t feel awkward when you are with someone you trust. You can sit together without talking and still feel okay. There is no pressure to fill the quiet. It feels peaceful, like you belong there. Home is a place where family is and will always be, home does not have to be a building you put love into. It can be a person you love or trust, it can also be a pet you love. Home should be a place where you would make memories. For example sleepovers, game nights, late night hangouts, and parties. Thank you Habitat for humanity for making me understand what home means to me. And I think everyone deserves a home.
