“The meaning of Home”
A home is not just a house or a building, it’s where your heart truly belongs. My home is where I want to stay here and there every day. In my home there are four special people that love to play. Those special people – my family – the pieces of my heart, is what I love the most about my home. The pure joy comes with the aromatic smell of my mom cooking dinner and my dad telling my brother a joke after his bad day. As I eat the dinner my mom makes, I sense a bubble of warmness, love and belonging.
With all the enchanting moments with my family I finally start to understand what the meaning of ‘home’ is. When it’s a Friday game night, laughter starts to fill the empty spaces. My family and I laugh like hyenas when we beat one another. The soft living room blanket is shielding my family from all bad as we watch drama or horror movies on Saturday nights, we cherish the togetherness. Home isn’t just the place you live in; home is who you live with, the people you belong with and care for you and you care for.
In the hot summer wind, there I stand reflecting on what I did that day. Home is like a cycle of emotions, happiness to anger, to calm, and back to happiness. Home is where you can see a dent in the wall and feel that sense of embarrassment. Home can be where you see a birthday card addressed to you at the back of your closet and feel a warmth grow all over you.
In the end home is like a recipe, where the sour days are like lemons, sugar brings sweet memories, and cheese for the awkward parts in life. That’s the true meaning of home to me.
