What Home Means To Me
Home is where I feel safe, loved and cared for.
A place where I can be myself.
When I'm at home I hear my two sisters laughing and having fun while my mom and dad talk and normally my dog is barking at other dogs walking in my neighborhood.
When I get home from school I see my sisters and my dog. About 30-35 minutes later my dad comes home from work, my mom sometimes works from home so when my dad gets home 10 minutes later my mom signs out of work and then finally I see her.
When I get home from Ringette practice I smell my dad’s cooking, and my mom's favourite candle sun set or a different one but I don't know.
When I'm at home I touch my dogs and sometimes my cat but only if she is not hiding under my mom and dad’s bed.
But what home really means to me is the people inside of it, the people who make sure I'm okay when I'm not and the people who take care of me when I am sick. Home is where I make my best memories with the people I love and care about and I would not change it for the world.
But what I really care about is that everyone can have a nice warm home to make their own memories with their family and friends, all because of Habitat for Humanity.
Thank you Habitat for Humanity for helping so many families in need of a nice warm home to live in.
