What Home Means to Me
How I see my home is very different than how my family sees home. For example, home is where I read out on my hammock in the summer. Home is where I listen to music and write stories. Home is where I play chess and lose to my brother every time. Home is where I have a cozy bed: where my dog sleeps at my feet and my kitten sleeps by my head and my cat sleeps on a platform above me.
Home is where when I have a bad day I can come home and feel better. Home is where when I feel sad, I watch funny videos with my mom or drive through the country. Home is where my brother and I complain about the old movies that my dad makes us watch.
My brother is 16, and he sees home differently: as a place to practice his slapshot, study for a test, cook crazy healthy meals and make fun of the shows I watch. But my mom sees home as a place where you can feel safe, bake with me, build forts and watch T.V. inside and help me clean my room when it gets really messy. My dad sees home as a place where you do karaoke, clean the kitchen while watching weird Star Trek shows, or practice all the musical instruments he plays like guitar, drums, piano, saxophone, and clarinet (I think there are more too). He also sings!
I only play drums and a little bit of piano and guitar but at least I can also sing! I have two cats: Missy and Kokoro (also known as missy moomoo and Koki Roki) as well as a puppy named Luna Latuna who's crazy and needs lots of exercise. And that's what home means to me and the people I love.
