Home to me is...

Home to me is coming home to my sister shouting my name happily and excitedly while I run down the stairs to give her a warm big hug. Home to me is going in the car and my friend jumps out of the trunk and scares me while we laugh together. Home to me is when my sister and I go out to play in the rain and come back soaking wet while water drips down our raincoats, and my mom makes us warm brown glowing tea and soft warm cookies. Home to me is coming home and smelling warm lavender and walking in the kitchen and seeing a cookie platter with all kinds of Indian sweets and sneaking some upstairs to eat. Home to me is coming home to music playing and you walk in, and everyone jumps excitedly and says surprise, while they hand me gifts. Home to me is the place I belong, the safe place I go to, where I can play with no worries and be free. Home to me, is nothing without laughter, joyfulness, and safety. My home can be anything in the whole wide world and so can yours! But for me it's my home.
