What is the meaning of home?

What home means to me is a safe space where I feel supported. Home isn’t just a place, it’s the one place that you feel safe and happy. A home is where your family is, where you are loved, encouraged, and motivated by the people you best enjoy being around. Home isn’t a certain place. It follows you wherever you go, not physically, but in your heart. Home is where you want to go after a bad day, where you want to go to feel happy, a “heaven on earth”. Home isn’t just a thing. It’s an environment shaped by however you live it. When the whole world is spinning before you, home is where you can stand steady. You can’t just leave home behind you, because no matter how far you go, or how sad you get, home will always be there for you, no matter what. Home is where you make memories, home is a refuge in times of danger, and last but not least, home is where you feel strong, motivated and supported by the people you care about. Think about the place you feel at your best, where you feel cared about. Then think about where your family is in your heart. Finally, think about the place that those two have in common. That is the place called home. So home is different for everybody and that’s okay because that just means everyone is special and unique in their own way.
