Home isn’t just a building.

Home is like a book of feelings just waiting to be opened. It's where the memories are made. Home isn’t just a building but for me it’s where I feel safe and loved. It’s all about caring for others and sharing the moments of joy together. Home is where you can come home from school and have someone to talk to. Home is where you can feel safe and protected. Like you can’t be touched. Home is where my family is. Home is about sharing the moments of happiness with one another. It is where we help each other if someone is feeling down. In the kitchen the delicious smell of home made spaghetti fills the air. But it’s not all about the food. It’s about the stories we tell each other over the table about our day. It’s about sharing the happiness around the table. Home is where my fluffy dog lies. Every day when I come home my dog greets me at the door. Just watching the day-to-day life of my home makes me feel warm inside. Sometimes the sound of luxurious violas play in the background making me feel more safe. Home isn’t just where you live but it can be anywhere you feel safe and loved. The softness of my dog's fur is the perfect way to drift off to sleep. The next day I wake up so bright and early to the darkness of my living room. So lonely at first but then the whole family wakes up and starts making breakfast or getting ready for school. It’s the familiar sounds that make me feel at home. Home. The feeling that I feel safe and loved. Home. The place where I can express myself and feel no shame. This is home. The feeling, not the place.
