I can always go home
Everyone’s home is different. Some people’s homes have lots of stairs, some have none. For me though, home is about my family, my cat and being able to feel safe there. Every day after school I go home. Whether I’ve had a fight with my friends or taken out a book I love from the school library. When I get home, I’m greeted by my adorable cat. She roles over on her back expecting me to pet her, but not on her belly. I get to hug my mom and get mad at my dad. I watch TV with my family, feeling happy and loved. I can be me in my home and feel like I belong there.
In my home I am protected from things that make me sad out in the world. When I am within the walls of my home bad weather is stuck outside and cannot come in.
In my back yard, there is a tree. I’ve always wanted to climb that tree, but I don’t think I could ever do it. Just recently, though, I learned how to with my friend. We had so much fun climbing it! I think it was extra fun because my friend was there too. My friends are a big part of what makes my home, home. They make me feel good when I’m out of my house and in my community. My community is also a part of my home!
My home is filled with fun like when I try to steal my dad’s phone or show my mom random things I can do. Home is a place with many memories like getting scratched by my cat for the first time, and I know, I can always go home.
