Home isn’t just a house

Home is where my story begins. It’s where I was raised, where I learn, and where my dearest memories take place. It’s where I cry, where I laugh, and where I know I'm safe. Everyone deserves a place where they can feel like this. I love my whole house, but some of my favorite places are the kitchen and my bedroom. The best thing about the kitchen is the possibilities. Here I can experiment with tastes and colours, learning to cook and bake with my family. Whenever we have family gatherings, we always end up in the kitchen. It’s the most loved room in the house; where we go for birthdays, holidays, and celebrations of all kinds. My bedroom is my space! I love my bookshelves, full of thousands of adventures waiting to be discovered. Lined up like soldiers waiting for battle, they wait diligently for their turn to be read. I love my desk, where I can work and colour in a world of words and hues. I feel sad when I see people living outside. Are there children living there? Are they cold? Are they sick? Or hungry? Maybe. Probably. That’s why what you do is so incredible. You give homes to people who need them. You give them a home where they can start their own families, and make their own special memories. Thank you for giving others something everyone deserves, but not everyone has.
