Meaning of Home- Why is Habitat for Humanity Important?

If you're like me, you would think that we all deserve homes, but there are nearly 60,000 people in Canada who experience homelessness sometime in their lives. To me, that is a problem. Habitat for Humanity is fixing this problem. I will tell you some things about them. They build safe and affordable homes for people who might not be able to afford them. Habitat for Humanity has been running since 1976, which makes their organization over 45 years old. They have been helping people for so long and they deserve to be well known. To this date, they are in 70+ countries! Habitat for Humanity isn't just an organization. They have a vision. Their vision is a world where everyone can have at least a decent place to call home. Habitat for humanity is a non-profit organization which means that they don’t earn more money than they need to cover their costs. They take donations and as I mentioned earlier, the homeowners also do pay some mortgage towards their house.
