What Home Means to Me

A home is a place where you should feel safe to express yourself. Home should be a place to grow and learn how to cook or play different types of board games. Now, about my life. When I was 3 in 2019 I moved to Canada from South Africa. My dad was still in South Africa so it was just my mom taking care of me, my two sisters and my brother. Mid 2022 my dad came into my house and it has been the best memories. The day before I was practicing what my reaction would be when my dad showed up but to be honest I had a way different reaction. I was looking for him, I saw him then I looked away. I told my mom I don't think he's coming. I looked everywhere. "He's not here," I told my mom. Then she said, "He's right there!" After that I hugged him and we went home. Living with my mom and dad is like a perfect circle. My dad helps me with sports I play and motivates me. My mom helps me with school and moves with me. But living with one is so hard. Living with just my mom was fun but it feels like I didn't have that last piece of the puzzle. To answer the question, what is a home to me- it is a puzzle piece and the pieces are a happy family.
