Meaning of Home

A home is a place where you feel loved and appreciated for who you are, a place where you are confident in being yourself. That isn’t all it takes to become your home, it’s not just about the places you are in, but the people you're with. I know that when I come home, my parents will be waiting for me with open arms asking me about my day. The stories I tell about my day can be honest, about the things I am proud of or not. No matter how your day was, you realise as you walk into your home, your day gets that much sweeter. Starting with the unmistakable smell of homemade cooking or the sound of your love for each other. It could be the feeling you get when you walk in, the comfort and the warmth that confirms this is where you belong. The most striking thing for me is the sight, not just the brightness of the sunlight but the sudden feeling of light inside of you that is so gentle and calm. It doesn't have to be just like this to be your home. A home is wherever you are even if you are far away! Everyday I see the same picture that says “Life takes us to unexpected places, love brings us home!” Even if your home seems like a thousand miles away the memories you have of being there will say otherwise. I have been taught over the years the difference between a house and a home. A house is somewhere you stay but a home is where you live. So no matter what home means to you, I hope you realise that it should always be a safe place for you to live!
