What Home is to Me
Home is where I live, play, and spend time together with my family. Home is where we help one another. Home is where memories are made. Home is where family and friends spend time together. Home is where meals are shared. Home is where gifts are made and given. Home is where I feel loved, special, happy, safe, important and welcome. Home is where we celebrate. Home is where problems are solved. Home is where we say “sorry”, thank you” and “you're welcome”. Home is where jokes are made. Home is where we laugh together. Home is where you can be you. Home is where you know you’re happy. Home is where you know you’re welcome. Home is where we’re protected. Home is where I know if I am not feeling so well, I know I can always come back to it. What a house is to me. A house is where I am protected from danger. A house comes in all different sizes, shapes and colours. A house is where when I sleep, I can know l am safe. A house stands strong. A house is where we watch shows. A house is where everyone loves you. So, whether it’s shared with someone or in a building or in a van or not even in anything like out in nature, to me that would still be my house. I would still be happy to be there. That’s my story of what a house is to me and what a home is to me. So, I hope that you understand, just look around. There’s something special, trust me. So, look more carefully, and you’ll find it. So, when you do, tell me, I want to know. So, home doesn’t need to be anywhere. It just needs to be where you’re happy, where your family is, where your friends are, and most importantly, where your heart belongs!
