Meaning of Home

Home is family because of the love and joy they bring to me. Whenever I am with them, I feel loved. If I moved ten times it will always be home because there with me. Home is siblings because of all the memories. All the time something burnt while my sister was cooking. All the time the room smells like sweat after my brother plays soccer. Home is my parents because of all they have done for me. All the time I would be sick, and they would stay with me through the night. All the time I have annoyed or frustrated by them. Home is the building house is the feeling. I smell my stinky sweaty brother after playing soccer. I hear booming from the basement while my brother plays basketball. I smell smoke because my sister is making pancakes. I hear rattling while my sister tries to find the perfect spoon for ice cream. I smell the freshness of my dad after he showers. I smell a fragrance on my mom after she puts on perfume. In my parent's room I see many things. I see colorful clothes and shiny black shoes. I hear laughter because my dad told us a joke. I touch the soft blanket on my parents bed. I hear prayer in the night before going to sleep. In my room I see cleanness all around. I touch my fluffy sweater my aunty gave me. I touch a soft blanket that is as soft as a dog. I smell food cooking in the kitchen and run as fast as a cheetah to eat it. I touch my floor. It’s as smooth as butter. The kitchen is where I find all my yummy food. I smell chicken and it makes me as happy as a dog when it receives a treat. I taste sour lemonade and my face puckers like a freshly squeezed orange. I taste spicy noodles and my mouth is as hot as fire. I taste buttery popcorn on movie nights. But in all this home is love. Love comes from family because they bring me joy. Whenever I’m with them, I feel loved. I’m thankful for Habitat for Humanity for making better futures. They are building foundations for people. Giving people a chance to have a home. Habitat for Humanity started in 1985 and has helped 5,000 people. I’m thankful for my home. I know I believe that Habitat for Humanity is going to change the world.
