Meaning of Home

To me home is a place where you can sleep peacefully, a place where you can make memories, a place where you can grow up and feel safe. Yes some homes may not be safe or happy all the time because some homes can be abusive and toxic and unfortunately a lot of people have to go through that type of situation. But when I was younger, home was my happy place. Why? Because I had my own room, my own peace and quiet, I had a place where I could make memories and I'm glad that I have a home because if i ever had a home I would have been homeless or moving shelter to shelter daily and i would have never be able to make all the memories i had. Those memories were special to me because if i never had a home I wouldn't be able to swing on my swings at 5, or make kites and wear my princess dresses for costume day at school. I also wouldn’t have been able to make sure my puppy had a safe birth, or when my little sister was born and THOSE are memories I will never forget because I had a home that was safe enough to keep me safe. It also didn't matter if my house was big or small, what mattered was that I had a roof over my head and a place where memories are stored and I'm grateful and thankful that I am able to grow up in a safe place and community with kind people. I am glad that I had a roof over my head for all these years and I hope that continues for the rest of my life till the day I close my eyes. And I wish that upon everyone.
