Meaning of Home

A home is where memories are made, and creativity sparks. A home is what shapes who we are. If furniture shapes a house than people and feelings shape a home. A home is a beautiful work of art. If I did not have my home, I would feel barren and empty, a home is what allows us to thrive, a home is a place where emotions come to life. While my house is built on earth overlooking my backyard, my home is built on layers of love. The beautiful aroma from my mom's cooking that fills the room every evening, the way me and my brother’s faces light up when mom finally has time to play with us, for me that is something a house will never replicate. A home is shaped by people and sometimes those people aren’t the best. There are people in this world with homes that aren’t welcoming, and where creativity doesn’t spark, where happiness and love isn’t the norm. It’s sad but the truth doesn’t lie. All I ask to the people who cause harm is why? That’s all the more reason I’m grateful though, that I live in a home filled with hope, a home where I shared my memories with who I hold dearest, A house where emotions flourish I want to thank Habitat for Humanity for building houses for people in need.
