The Meaning of Home
The meaning of home doesn't always mean owning a house, it means owning a place you can find love and joy with the people you live with. When I come home from a rough day at school, I put on my favorite movie and snuggle up with my pet cat. The meaning of home doesn't always mean having one home either, it means having people who care for you and love. My two parents don't live together, but it doesn't mean they don't both love me any less or any more. I love both of my parents dearly and I know they love me too. Having separated parents can be fun but hard too. For me, I have five loving siblings even though they can be super annoying, I still love them just as they are. The meaning of home is having fun and making traditions that will last forever. One of the many traditions my family has is going sledding on Christmas eve, or every birthday party we celebrate at my grandfather's house. How my mother says, “being grateful” is in a poem, and it goes like this: “We have a lot to be thankful for, the memories through the years, the many times together, full of laughter, full of tears.” The meaning of home doesn't always mean being happy either. When I leave my mom or dad's house, I'm sad that I must leave them. I'm always happy to see my other siblings and parent. Thank you to Habitat to Humanity for letting everyone experience all the good and bad sweet and sour of a home.
