Where I'm From

I’m from playing a piano from paint and crayons from my dad screaming at my brother and my brother yelling at me. I am from blooming cherry blossoms whose petals give me a warm hug. I am from a piece of gold from my necklace from Tan and Shi. I am from my mom’s eyebrows and my dad’s hair from my mom’s demeanor and my dad’s temper. I am from eating fish oil. I am from Daxin and Shufen from spaghetti and dumpling from making Chinese food with my grandparents from red envelopes full of money on Chinese New Year and a flower choker necklace. I am from those moments playing the piano and creating art.
