Meaning of Home
Home is not just a place to eat and sleep. Home means much more. At the entrance, the scent of freshly polished boots and shoes takes up the entire room. As you shake off your backpack and put your shoes in the shoe rack, you move to the kitchen. In the kitchen, the smell of baked sweets lingers around the room all the way to the living room.
In the Living room all our favorite memories and stories are held gently in a picture frame decorating the white blank wall. Each picture holds a different story. Up the creaky wooden stairs is my bedroom. My bedroom is my sanctuary. It is where I hide, play, and work. The bedroom cradles me to sleep every night. On rainy days I pull up the soft cozy blanket and get out a book to read while the sound of rain wipes the room. Outside in the sunny garden the radiating light-green grass Sways gently in the cool breeze. The flowers that my mom and sister planted stand proud and tall in their little peach baskets. The dogs frolic in the yard playing with their chewed-up tennis ball. While me and my family would sit at the patio cracking jokes and laughing.
Inside our house is just like a plant sanctuary. Plants like spiky cactuses catch the sun while plants like little tulips hide in the cool shade. My grandma is just like a cook. Her dishes are always made with care and unconditional love whether it is freshly baked sweets or spicy curry. My dad and I always spend time together. Sometimes we just talk and sometimes we mess around and play video games. My sister and I love to goof around. We always try to annoy each other, and we always get in trouble.
A house can be built and destroyed, but a home can never be destroyed. A home will always reside in you no matter what. A home is a place you know you will be accepted for who you are. There will be laughter and there will be joy but there will also be arguments but that's what makes home special.
