A familiar Den

A home is a place where someone feels comfortable and protected. Usually, when you are ‘home’, you feel connected or familiar to your surroundings. A home isn't necessarily a house or a specific physical structure. It can be anywhere or anything. An idiom for this is ‘A home is where the heart is’ You can buy a house, but where your ‘home’ is, is usually a place that feels familiar or comfortable. It usually takes a while to change where you feel ‘at home’. Your home is usually at a place you spent a lot of time at a young age, but it isn’t specifically restricted to that. The experiences you had at those places can also influence where your home is. For example, if you had an experience that you value at a certain place, such as a proposal, going back there can make you relive the warmth of these memories. If you grew up somewhere, and go back there after a period of time, those memories would come back. Similarly, if you had a bad experience somewhere, the feelings of those experiences would come back to you.
