If Home Were a Pet

If home were a cat, it would be the soft purr; the rumbling, yet soothing noise it makes when gently stroking the fur on its back. It would be the meow; the irresistibly cute sound when it wants more food. It would be the adorable licks; brushing its tiny papillae against your face, as if it tastes like the tiny ginger cookies grandma used to make. If home were a dog, it would be the burst of energy it gives off when you arrive back from work, as if the oilers just scored a point in a match. It would be the playfulness when trying to catch the ball; chasing it no matter how tired it is. It would be the sharp teeth; biting all the prey it finds. If home were a fish, it would be the calmness of flowing through the clear water; peacefully drifting along like a dream. It would be the cute fins flapping up and down, the mesmerising pattern you could watch for hours straight without stopping. Pets make you happy and home should do too.
