The Meaning of Home
Home is not just a building, but an entire community and the people who make it up. It can even be your friend's. Home is where you are comfortable, where you know that you belong. Home is the memories that you share with the people you love. Home is where you fight with your siblings. It’s a place full of inspiration, a place that means something to you and to others. My home is where my friends are, where my dad is in the basement working or preparing for my extracurriculars, it’s where my mom is in the kitchen baking my favourite food in the world, Chocolate chip banana muffins, it’s my sister in her room, either playing with her dolls or stealing my makeup. When I get home, it’s always my dogs who greet me by jumping on me and practically demanding attention. Even when I leave my house, I still feel at home. On Christmas Eve, I always go to my Nona’s house, it’s kind of a tradition. When my family arrives, we are greeted with love and a lot of gifts. What I enjoy most about my Nona’s house is that no matter how old I get, I will always remember all the fun memories that I made in the past years. Not only is my family part of my home, but my friends are too. When I go to my friend's house, she welcomes me like
family. Whether we are playing with slime or giving each other makeovers, we are almost always happy when we are doing things together. Finally, a home is where everybody should know where they belong and that they are cared for. Thank you, Habitat for Humanity, for your kind donations to give people homes.
