My home to me is like… That one cute squirrel that visits my yard almost every morning, she is small and grey and loves walnuts. So I happily give her one. I named her Martina. My home to me is like… The varieties of cuisines my parents and I cook. From Indian to Italian we love to try new things and the kitchen smells marvelous every single time. Eating this scrumptious food makes me feel joyful and makes me want more. My home to me is like… The walls that are adorned with family photos that capture moments of pure joy. They tell stories about our travel adventures; from the vibrant markets of Mexico, the breathtaking views of Alberta, the playful kangaroo encounters in the Outback and the bustling streets of Mumbai. Every frame wraps me in warm memories that feel like home itself. My home to me is like… The stories I tell my family when I return from school. About the exciting things I learnt, or about the thrill of winning a friendly game of Badminton, or about the massive snowman we built at recess. Home is the place where I am always understood and where my secrets are safe. My home to me is like… The fun board games we play, just me and my family. We have classics like Ludo and Catan, and quirky games you’ve probably never heard of! That competitive feeling sparks my confidence when I win, and humbles me when I lose. But it’s the jokes, the teasing and the sound of laughter that stays with me much after the pieces are packed away. Nothing in the world could replace this magical haven I call home. It is my everything place that keeps me safe and comforts me when I need it most.
