Home Is...
Home is not just an enclosed space, it's a whole different story.
Let me tell you about it.
Home is like a warm shower under a cozy roof, protecting you from the outside dangers. A home is a safe place full of belonging, safety and identity. Beyond physical walls, a home is a place of safety, comforting and presence. Sometimes you could call it a safe haven for being yourself. Big or small, a home matters by the people inside it, the memories and losses, to overcome. The paintings holding memories from decades ago, still intact, the amazing smells floating through the air. In every home there's something to be grateful for.
A home can be a lot of things such as a birthplace or country; ancestral roots that shape a person's identity. To me, home gives me a sense of peace, reflection and joy from loved ones. Home is an environment where everybody feels welcomed. Without a home, it can effect your mental well-being. Home is where me and my family rest after a long day of school and work, on our comfy sofas we tell stories and make memories for more pictures on our walls. In my room I have my own bed and a tv; some people don't have that.
I have a backyard, where we build ice rinks in the pond out back and play hockey with my cousins. In my home, peace and harmony is made, you can't buy that with money.
Everybody's home is unique and special, they are all different than each other in a good way. Different culture and tradition planted in the walls with each layer of paint.
That is what I think home means.
