What Is A Home?

Home for me is my family. When I found out I was leaving Ecuador for Canada, I thought, "I'm going to leave everyone." I started crying; I was sad, but it was an opportunity I couldn't refuse. One day, my parents told me we wouldn't all be going together because my mom had a very serious illness and they wouldn't let her into Canada. We were very sad because when we found out my dad was going to travel alone, and then my little cousin was born just a week before, my dad couldn't be with him for very long. My mom, my brother, and I cried a lot. It hurt to leave my dad; I missed him so much. Four months later, my mom got her visa, and we cried tears of joy because we were going to see my dad again. But it also hurt to leave my family. The day before I left, my cousin invited me to spend a cousins' day together, and that was the best day of my life. At the end of the day, we said goodbye to my cousin with a big hug. It hurt so much that I cried all the way to the airport, remembering those beautiful moments. When it was time to board, I didn't want to leave my family. Although it might not seem like it, Ecuador is a country full of agriculture, beautiful places, and lovely landscapes. On the plane, I was remembering all those happy moments with my family. Since my parents told me we were coming to Canada, I never started sixth grade; I even missed a year of school. For me, home is priceless; family is the only thing that matters. :D
