What does home mean to me?
When I think of home, I think of family and friends. When I see my home, I think of safety. Home is a place where I can make memories. I have memories like when my dog Taco saw snow for the first time or when my brother tried to do a handstand and fell on his back. I know I can always count on my family to keep me safe. My favorite thing about my home is that it is always strong in all kinds of weather. An example is when there was a huge hailstorm. The hail almost broke one of our windows, but my house still stood strong. Eventually, my family moved houses and I was sad since I didn’t know where we were going to move. I knew it would all work out. It took us a while to settle in but we eventually settled in, especially me and my brother. I know I can always remember my first house and always count on my home to cheer me up. When I see people without a place to stay at night, I feel terrible because I think everyone deserves a home. Did you know that 60,000 people become homeless every night in Canada? A house showcases how you live your life and also gives you a place where you can reflect on the person you are today. My house has taught me to be strong and to never give up. I also go to gymnastics 3 times a week and it’s like my second home. The expression of a second home is when you spend a lot of time in a particular place it sort of feels like home. Every time I am at gymnastics, I feel peace and love. All and all you should never judge someone for their looks, size and especially their home.
