What Does Home Mean to Me?
Home can mean lots of things to other people, but for me, home is something different. Home is a place where I can release my feelings.
Home can be a place where I can talk to someone without being scared. I might have a rough day at school, but I know that once I get home, I will be loved.
Home is not just four walls and a roof. Home can be the start of my future. Home is a place where, when I wake up, I can hear my cats purr. Home is a place where I can sleep and feel safe. Home can also be a place where I receive gifts.
Home is a place where, when I walk through the door after school, I hear, “Hi, how was school?” from my mom or dad. Home can be a place where I hear sad news or happy news. Home is also a place where my favorite people can come and spend time with me.
Home can mean many different things. Home is a place where I can stay clean, take a shower, and brush my teeth. Home should be for everyone, but not everyone can afford a house. That is where Habitat for Humanity comes in—they build new homes and make them affordable.
Home can be your happy place. That is what home means to me.
