What Is Home
You may think home is a place with walls, floors and furniture but that's not a home. A home is a place where you can feel safe knowing it's ok to make mistakes. Being able to speak your mind, being able to share your thoughts and opinions proves that you are safe and feel safe.
Home isn't just being safe though it is family. Sometimes we do get annoyed, angry and upset at our family, but we must know that them being there for us makes a huge difference between a house and a home. Yes some families do not make you feel safe or loved and that's why you are maybe closer to your friends or teachers. Having a safe and loving environment can help you and your family get closer and habitat for humanity does just that. Not having the stress of moving bills or debts can really help mend relationships with your family. Family is hard but you'll get through it.
Trust is what every home needs trust is the legs of the home keeping you and your family steady, to me trust is my parents respecting my boundaries believing what i tell them, trust is also us being honest with our family friends but most importantly our selves by trusting our bodies knowing what situation we want and don’t want to be in, to protect ourselves.
Finally, love is the nervous system of our home for our toes to our heads. Love passes through us no matter what a home has. Even if you're mad, sad and lonely, we know when you walk through the front door things will get better. The people we love, trust and feel safe with is what makes a house into a home.
