Home Isn’t Just a Building

Home isn’t just a structure. It’s a place where I sleep, eat and hang out with my family. When I’m away at a sleepover or on a trip all I want to do is go home. When I'm away from my family all I want to do is see them. When I go home I see my hamster pip running in her cage and having fun. When I am home all I smell and feel is the burning fire in my fireplace. After dinner we always sit in the living room by the fire watching a show. When I get home all I feel is love. Home keeps me dry on cold, thunderous nights. When we have dinner we tell stories and laugh. When I have dinner I feel a hot meal under me and I taste and see a delicious meal and I remember some kids don’t have that so I feel grateful for my house that covers my body, keeps me warm and keeps me dry. It’s like a big hug. It makes you feel nice and warm. A home isn’t just a building, a home isn’t just a structure. A home is my home. It's where I make memories and live with the people I love.
