Home isn't only a house.

A home isn't only a house, a home isn't just the roof or the walls; it's where love lives. Swaddling you up like a warm fuzzy blanket where you feel safe from unkind words or thoughts. It's about the people who live in it, your mom or dad, grandma, grandpa sibling or pets where they comfort you and tell you that you're loved. My kitchen isn't just about the delicious food we eat, it's the stories we share while eating things that are good or bad that make us happy or sad where we laugh or cry. My kitchen is where I learn to bake cookies and cakes, where my nose is overwhelmed by the amazing smells and where I make memories with my mom. My living room is where we laugh and play and when the winter wind blows and howls we sit by the fire and cuddle up telling jokes as we drink hot cocoa, and I often look at the pictures on the walls which tell stories of my favourite times. My bedroom is like my fort, a place for creativity and fun! Where I laugh and play and when I get tired I jump in my bed. My bed feels as soft as a feather and it feels as though I'm sleeping in a cloud and I snuggle in close and listen to my mom and dad read to me. When I finally fall asleep my imagination takes over. So my home isn't just a house,a home is the people in it and the memories we make. I am very thankful for organizations like Habitat for Humanity because I think that everyone deserves a place to call home where they can feel like they belong and where they can feel loved, cared for and understood.
