Home Is Not Just A House

Home is not just a building or shelter. It is a place where you spend time with your family, where you make memories, and you are surrounded with things that make you feel special . It doesn't matter if you move, a home will always be with you in your heart. When I first moved into my new house, I missed the smell of my old home and how it looked. Now I call my new house, my home. In the living room on Fridays or Saturdays I like to cuddle up with my family to watch movies or play video games. Sometimes if my parents are free we do fun things together like telling funny jokes or going to the zoo. In the bathroom I love taking nice warm showers and bubble baths especially in the winter because it makes me feel warm and comfortable. When I walk into the kitchen in the morning I smell the deliciousness of my dad making a yummy breakfast and my mom always packing the best lunches! When it is dinner time we eat and have lots of good conversations, after we go upstairs to our rooms to get ready for bed. My bedroom is like a very cozy blanket wrapped around me. It is my relaxation place. Where I can do whatever I want in it. When I go to my room for any reason, I usually like to lay down in my bed and start to read. When my cat Binky gets on the bed, I put my book down on my bed, and snuggle with her. Finally, after about 30 minutes of reading, I hear my mom or dad say “Athina, it is time to go to sleep” that is when I go to bed and have my wonderful dreams. I love playing in my basement because it is full of toys and fun things to do. I have lots of memories in my basement and I hope I can keep them forever in my heart. I love to do crafts down in my basement. I make sketches, paintings, and many more art projects. Sometimes I gift my friends and family with my art. Thank you habitat for humanity for building homes for people that might not be able to afford a house or an apartment. A home is where you belong, a house is just four walls, a few windows, and a door.
