Home is where you belong
Home is where you can be yourself and relax. In my home we make endless memories that are framed on our wall to stay with us forever. Whenever I walk into my home I automatically feel calm and all the stress disappears. My favourite part about my home is the people in it.
I love the delicious smell of my mom cooking our family dinner in the kitchen. The kitchen is where my sister and I bake desserts for the family. I love baking chocolate chip cookies. When the cookies come out of the oven they are warm, gooey and delicious. Sometimes on wet, gloomy, cold days, me and my family make hot chocolate until we can play outside again. Nothing is better than sipping rich hot chocolate with people you love.
Sometimes we watch a movie on rainy days. My living room is a place to hang out with my family and friends. My family loves to play games. We have a cabinet of fun games. My favourite games are Uno and Snakes and Ladders. When I have sleepovers with my friends we watch movies and eat lots of candy.
Lastly, my bedroom is a place where I can be myself. My room is very comfortable. Sometimes I’m so tired I don’t get out of bed in time for school. My room feels like a cozy blanket wrapped around me. Whenever I’m feeling down before bed I go to my room and read a book. Soon after that my parents say “it’s time to go to bed”. Then my dog Piper jumps up and curls up on my bed to sleep with me.
My home is where I grew up and it is definitely more than a bunch of walls and a roof. Home is different from a house, a house is a shelter, a home is where you are with who you love and care for. A house is important to keep you safe, but what makes it home is mostly who is in it. So thank you habitat for humanity for helping others find a home just for them.
