Home Is Where You Feel Accepted
Home is where you feel accepted. Being accepted feels like the warm bear hugs your dad gives you when you bring in a good test. Being accepted feels like your moms warm bed when you ask to sleep with her because you had a terrifying nightmare. Being accepted sounds like your siblings squealing peals of laughter as you tell them a hilarious joke. Being accepted smells like your feathery pillow as you sob uncontrollably into it because your best friend died. Being accepted looks like family movie night. Being accepted tastes like your mom’s delicious apple pie as you celebrate you getting a job.
Family members do an amazing job at making you feel accepted. Without them you'll most definitely feel solitary. Family members are as comforting as your cozy bed. They encourage you when you fail. They give you crucial advice.
Food can sometimes be your only source of consolation if you're separated from your closest family and friends. An example of food consolation is: As I sadly walked back from school, tears flowed down my face, leaving trails of water streaks down my face. I had just learned that my most dedicated friend had died yesterday. As I entered my house, my parents took one look at my mournful face and announced, “Family movie night, you choose!” My Dad made the most succulent, scrumptious spicy pizza you can imagine! It cheered me up but I didn't fully forget my best friend.
Memories are a great way to identify where your home is. Without family you have none. Your mind is like a blank slate waiting for memories, but getting empty, solitary and gloomy memories. You want sweet, comforting memories, instead you get depressing ones. Surrounding yourself with family members is a great way to get nice memories.
