Home

Home isn’t a place; it’s a feeling—a feeling that belongs to me. Home is the rare moment of my cat purring happily in my lap and small arguments that end with hugs and apologies. Home is the scent of my mom’s diffuser filled with peppermint essential oil. Home is my brother and me frantically rushing to get ready for dance and swimming. Home can be anywhere, because it always travels with me—on trips to Vancouver, where I’m excited to see my cousins, auntie, and uncles. Home is my family laughing at my dad while we play Sorry. And most of all, home is the feeling of forever.
