What Home Means to Me

Home is getting under a blanket with my family watching all our favourite movies at the end of the day. It’s where I feel loved by my family. Home is where I eat big meals on the holiday. I am always feeling way too full but we still have dessert. Home is where we have traditions and make memories. One memory that I have is when we are all yelling, “Happy new year!” Playing with our pets outside is a memory. One of my favourite memories with my dog is when we were going on a walk and he saw a squirrel and he pulled so hard I went headfirst into the bush. I still loved him because he gave me kisses after. My dad cooks my favourite meals at home. My favourite meal is his famous steak. It is one of my mom’s and brother’s favourites too. Playing soccer outside with my brother, even when it’s pouring out is fun. One time I kicked the ball so hard I slipped and my brother and I started dying laughing. All these moments, traditions, and happiness are what home means to me. Thank you, Habitat for Humanity, for helping people that cannot afford a home.
