Perry and His Home
Perry loved his home. He loved the laughter in the living room, the smell of bacon first thing in the morning on Sundays, and the taste of freshly baked cookies. He loved his mom and dad and his two cats that he always felt safe in his home.
Perry loved his toys, especially his video games. He loved making snow forts and sledding on snow days. In the summer. Perry loved playing baseball and basketball on the field and driveway. Inside the living room. Perry loved playing board games like Game of Life and Pay Day. But one day he was told he was moving to Vancouver! Perry didn’t want to leave the place he spent most of his life making memories. Perry was sad for a long time up until the day before moving day. He was tucked away by the boxes crying when his mom walked in and found him and sat next to him and told Perry “the house might be where the memories were made but it doesn’t matter because even in this new house if you’re with me it’ll always be home” Once Perry heard that, he started to cheer up and the next day he wasn’t too sad to move away anymore. Even though he still misses the old house he knows he’ll make more memories at the new one.
Thank you, Habitat for Humanity, for making people like Perry who have homes.
