The Place I Call “Home”

The Place I Call “Home” Home is where the most delicious meals happen. Meals better than Burger King, A&W, and they even top McDonald’s. The home meals, whether it is at lunch, dinner, or even breakfast with my family, are awesome! The delicious smells of meals and the sounds of pots and pans of the stove sizzling and fizzling and bubbling and boiling and frying and hissing and making all those delicious noises. Because of that, home is where the most delicious meals happen. Home is where I feel safe. When the outside world is not so great or I’m just having a bad day, home is my refuge. They say, “There’s no place like home”, and there’s no doubt about it that I agree. Home is where people say “I love you” and “How was your day?” and I like that. So, now you can see that home is where I feel safe. Home is where I sleep. In my room, my bed is my happy place. My bed is not just a foam-filled mattress with a (fitted) sheet, quilt, fleece and weighted blanket on a black frame with a navy blue bedskirt. No. It’s more. It’s where I retire from the long, weary day and where everything goes my way. I have dreams, good and bad, but never sad. So there, and home is where I sleep. So that is how home should be, and if you like it, I agree. The home is what I just wrote, so, what does it mean to you?
