What home means to me

The meaning of home to me is safe. A place where any person can feel safe like me. I feel safe around my comics when I write. It's not just about art, it’s about how interesting it is. When I'm writing comics, I completely forget about everything else because this comic is my top priority. Another place that makes me feel safe is in my bed, all alone, quiet, when I fall asleep. It is my favorite part, a break from the cruel world around me in my own wonderland. It is a beautiful place; even the nightmares aren't something I'd want to forget. But safety isn't always the best way to go. Sometimes you have to be risky, which is why I like rock climbing, the polyurethane beneath my fingers and getting higher and higher. I feel as if I'm flying. It's an amazingly challenging sport, which is why I love it. Something else I love is music, mostly pop and hip-hop. They are the most expressive and make me feel like I can do anything. Overall, the meaning of home is somewhere where anybody, any place, can have a place to be themselves.
