What Home Means To Me
Home is not just a house, it's somewhere that you feel loved and welcomed like when your parents play with you. Or when you're in the living room on the couch cuddled under a blanket eating snacks and watching a movie.
Maybe it is just waking up and watching the sunrise, the birds chirping, the squirrels running up trees outside your window.
Smelling a meal that your parents prepared and eating it and feeling warm inside not just from the warm food - but from how much effort your parents made. Especially when it's your favourite food - it feels good when it's just for you. It reminds you that they love you. There is also laughing at the stories that they tell you. Laughing and being happy is a part of my home.
Home is a place for all feelings - like sadness, mad, happy, excitement and anger. And you can't always be perfect. Like you can't always be happy.
And there's pictures of me and my family that are like memories hanging on the wall. And you look at them and then you remember those times. Then you're like - ¨Hey! Remember when we were there? We had so much fun! It was an amazing time.” And that picture just brings you back.
And that's what home means to me.
