What Home Means to Me
A home is more then just a structure. It’s where life's core experience happens, defining ourselves and our well-being. I think housing is important because houses provide fundamental safety, shelter and stability acting as a secure base for family growth and health. It offers protection from elements and the outside world and a comfortable place to work and learn. Housing is not just for space it can be for a job like for example my grandpa had to move to the USA to get his new job. The reason he moved was to become an engineer after being a mailbox worker. Before he moved he told his mom and dad and then got his visa and worked as an engineer for 6 years. It must have been hard for him to leave his home and travel far away, but he loved his new job and new life. A home provides new experiences and joy. It also gives protection. For example in a tsunami or a hurricane, a house can save your life if you are lucky. A house can also protect you from wild animals, like a bear or a big animal charging at you. It can protect you from pollution when the air is bad. When there was a lockdown like Covid 19 and we had to stay indoors and could not go to a friend's house or go to school, a home was a safe place to stay for many months. To sum it all up, that is why housing is important to me.
