What Home Means to Me
One time I was learning about refugees. I learned that a refugee was a person who had to leave their country because of war or a natural disaster. When I learned that I started thinking about all the people who don’t have homes or are not in their usual home. I started feeling lucky that I lived in my home and I realized what home means to me. It is a place full of laughter and jokes. A home is a place where I feel safe and loved, where I can play with my toys, read a book or watch TV. It is a place where I can be with my caring family. It is a comfortable place where I can eat and sleep. It’s a judgment free place where I can feel like myself. There is always someone to support me when I need it. A home is a place where I feel happy and relaxed. It’s a place where I can make creative things when I feel like it. I can learn new things when I want to and play with my friends. If I didn't have a home I would feel sad because I wouldn't have all the good things that I have right now. I also wouldn’t feel safe because I wouldn't have shelter where I could comfortably sleep. I realize that there is only one place you can call home, and that's where you can be at peace.
