There’s No Place Like Home!

My grandfather is a refugee from Hungary. He moved to Canada when he was a child and created a very peaceful household for my family. My home is a place that is very special to me. It has the people who I care deeply about, no matter what. My family is caring, funny, and always tries to cheer me up when I feel upset. My home gives me food, drinks, and shelter. My home also gives me a comfortable place to sleep and relax. I am lucky my home has a backyard to play in and run around outside. We have celebrations on birthdays and play games almost all the time. My family gives me lots of entertainment. My house also gives me memories and I am often reminded of them through the photos we take and keep around my home. I feel like I belong when I am in my home and I can socialize, have conversations about our day, and laugh with my family all the time. My home is a place I can always rely on. Even though we disagree sometimes, I still will always love my family. They teach me to learn, give me responsibility, and keep me safe. Because I have a safe home, I am able to go to school and get an education. My house also gives me freedom. It is a place where I can be creative and express myself. When I look out my window and think about what is out there in other parts of the world, I often find myself feeling thankful for all I have in my home and with my family. My home is unique, one of a kind, and is my favorite place ever. There is no place like home!
