What a home should mean to you

The meaning of a house is a structure with four walls. A house has a roof, doors, but no feelings at all. A home is what YOU make out of a house. You load it with family, children, even a spouse. A home is a place where you should feel loved and respected. Sometimes people are mean, you might feel affected. Sometimes we all fight, but we apologize! Hey, listening to others is something you should memorize. A house is a place that gives shelter and security. A home should be a safe place for you and your family. The scent of a home smells quite comforting. Do not take that for granted, it is very emotionally rejuvenating. The sound of the refrigerator turning on is like no other. Your favourite meals come from there, made by your mother. Recipes and meals feel great after school, it is like feeling hot in the summer, then jumping into a pool. A house has furniture, rooms, and stairs, but a home is a place full of people, people who care. A house is meant to shield you from soot mud and rain, but a home should be filled with people to comfort you are in pain. Sometimes work and school can be rough, drinking hot cocoa with cookies are a must! Everybody deserves a home, people with family and people on their own. Your bedroom is a place that gives you privacy, its where you watch television, where you get a good night sleep. Looking outside through a window is comforting. Birds chirping, nature and flowers blooming in spring. That is why I am authoring this poem for you, to give every man, woman, child, the feeling of a warm home too.
