HOME HAS A BIGGER REASON

A place where I feel cared for is home. Where music fills the air at a nice tone. You can tell stories short and long. Where your answers are not right or wrong. In the kitchen, where my mom bakes. Out of the oven, nice warm cakes. The room fills with sweet scents. The food is full of love and just a few cents. In my bedroom, where peace and quiet meet. With a nice and chill beat. You can sleep all night and day. Where dreams take you away. In the hall, is where memories are remembered. Go down the hall as the floor creaked. Look upon the wall. Filled with pictures short and tall. In the living room, as you see the fireplace burning. It’s not the only thing it’s showing. The fireplace fills the room with love and care. As warm hugs fill the air. In the dining room, where we all gather around The food on the table goes round and round. The conversations go on for years. You bite food filled with laughter and sips of tears. In the basement, where games can be played. Where memories are lost and made. You can hang out there for hours. Love can neither be sweet or sour. In the backyard, where flowers and weeds grow. As the flowers blow and blow. The grass stretches for miles. You can play corners to corners, just like floor tiles. Now you know that a home isn’t just a set of four walls. You have to see it through someone else’s point of view.
