The Soul of Home
Door stands open, tall and bright,
A welcome hand in morning light
It swings for those who come and go,
Yet keeps the warmth of love we know
Fire hums in embers deep,
Aglow where love and laughter sleep
scent of spice, warmth of tea,
A home is built on memory
Kitchen sings with clinks and chimes,
A rhythm born of love and time.
Scent of bread, and bubbling stew,
A place where old and new pass through
Table holds both feast and talk,
The hands that serve, the feet that walk
Stories bloom in plates passed round,
A home is where our roots are found
Stairs Up and down, both fast and slow,
With every step, a life will grow
From tiny feet to weary sighs,
These steps have seen both lows and highs
Bedroom waits with sheets so soft,
A place where dreams can drift aloft
Through whispered prayers and moonlit beams,
It cradles hopes, it shelters dreams.
Walls have heard both joy and fears,
echoes of our passing years
Yet in its hush, we find release,
A space of rest, a home of peace
Bathroom holds a quiet grace,
A place to wash, to slow the pace
Mirror reflects both face and soul,
A private space to make us whole
Window frames the sky so wide,
The world beyond, the world inside
It lets in dreams, it lets in air,
Yet holds the love we always share
Above it all, through storm and song,
roof stands to shield, both safe and strong
No matter how far we may roam,
Its sturdy hands still call us home
A home’s not made of bricks and nails,
But woven tight in love-filled tales
Like roots that dig both deep and wide,
It holds us close, our hearts inside
