Home means Colombia
Home means Colombia. It feels like home because I have lots of family in Colombia and a place to stay while I’m there. Every day, the aroma of freshly cooked food cycles through the halls of the house.
Home also means Canada. It’s not a house or an apartment. It’s more than just a couple walls and a roof. Home is something special like a dog, a cat, a bed, a couch or a drawing. I recently got my own room for the first time, and it surprised me how quickly I grew into it and how fast it felt like home to me.
Home is various cultures within your family or even within your house. It’s a place where you can unwind when you feel unsettled. It’s having safe food and water to eat and drink. It is also having peers who you can trust and have fun with and laugh with.
Home is going on a family vacation where you can take some time off and relax. It’s going camping with my family within and outside of Manitoba.
Home is going to my grandparents’ house because it is a safe place where I feel content. It’s doing a good deed for someone like holding the door and them returning it to you.
Home is having a sibling who you can rely on and who can cheer you up when you’re feeling down. It’s going in my backyard during the spring and the summer, playing basketball with my brother so he can improve.
